Personally I think it would be great fun to act as the opposite sex for a movie. It would be a challenge but very fun and interesting at the same time. You would have to be a great actor to be able to pull it off or sometimes it's done just to be funny. Here is my list of gender reversal roles, enjoy :)

Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire

Starting with my favourite, Mrs. Doubtfire is a fantastic family/comedy movie. It's great for a laugh and gets funnier with every time you watch it. Robin Williams is perfect for this type of role being the funny man that he is. The story is about a father who splits with his wife but still wants to be able to see his children so he disguises himself as a nanny. It's hilarious!!

Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie

Another great comedy! Dustin Hoffman plays an unemployed actor who is renowned for being a pain, so dresses as a woman to get a role on a soap opera.

Amanda Bynes as Sebastian Hastings

Amanda Bynes is hilarious in this movie while she tries to act as her brother to get into the boys soccer team. She has to put on a deep voice and try to act blokey around her "mates." She falls in love with her room mate and has to change between herself and her brother to keep everyone fooled.

Shawn & Marlon Wayans as The Wilson Sisters

White Chicks is one of my favourite comedies. It's so ridiculous that it's funny. Two black FBI agents go undercover as white females to save the Wilson Sisters from being kidnapped. So many funny things happen through this movie while they're trying so hard to act like females but never quite do it right.

Hilary Swank as Brandon Teena

The movie Boys Don't Cry is based on true events. It tells the story of Brandon Teena who is a transgendered teenager who prefers to portray a male identity. Hilary Swank does an amazing job in this movie and it's a great but very sad movie. I recommend this one.

Gwyneth Paltrow as Thomas Kent

Starring Joseph Fiennes and Gwyneth Paltrow, Shakespeare In Love is about Shakespeares' love affair during the making of Romeo & Juliet. It is mainly fictional but some of the characters are based on real people. It tells the story of Viola de Lesseps who disguises herself as Thomas kent so she can act, as females were then forbidden to do so in those days.

Martin Lawrence as Big Momma

A funny movie about an agent going undercover as an old large lady to attempt getting a confession from Sherry to catch a criminal on the run. Big Momma gets into some hilarious situations and it's an all round good movie. It will give you a laugh.

Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes & John Leguizamo as Vida, Noxeema & Chi Chi

Too Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything is a fantastic movie about three drag queens who travel until their car breaks down in a small town. They meet some great people along the way.

I just finished watching the romantic comedy "Life As We Know It" starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Dumal and although it was okay, I couldn't believe how many romance movie clichés were in it. We all know the movies I'm talking about. They always... - 13 months ago

Great movies you've got there, Sarah! Difficult to pick a fave... so I wont :) But I think Tootsie is a masterpiece and Dustin Hoffman really made that role come alive. Patrick Swayze was rather fenomenal in "To Wong Foo", too. Hilary Swank & Gwyneth Paltrow pulled it off excellently, too... like I said, difficult to pick. Very fun article, kudos!
